CBD You Can Trust

The founding members created Kana as a labor of love. The owner’s mother had been suffering from a degenerative disease and she found her relief in the form of CBD. His work in the dispensary side of the cannabis industry led him to realize that many people were searching for the medical benefits of hemp, but did not want to get high and found the idea of going to dispensaries overwhelming. With the idea of helping people find relief through hemp in a friendly, no pressure environment, Kana was born. At our grand opening, Governor Sisolak said, “Kana is what I imagined when we made marijuana legal in Nevada.” Our little boutique on Main Street was filled with curated CBD with available lab tests and employees who were educated on the benefits of CBD and hemp.

As the CBD world grew we saw a need for a product that was reliable and had roots in Nevada and that customers could know exactly where their products were coming from. With that, Kana Farms started in early 2019 with our own 100 acre hemp farm in Northern Nevada. Now with the launch of the Kana Brand we have seed-to-table CBD that you can trust. Our goal has always been to help those in need through education and provision of the highest quality CBD products to you, our customer. Thank you for visiting the Kana Shoppe!

California Bans Hemp Derived CBD?

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released an FAQ just a few days ago addressing Industrial Hemp and CBD in food after receiving a number of communications from processors and retailers throughout the state. What is CBD?
CBD is one of the many cannabinoids inside the Cannabis Sativa L plant family. All CBD sold by Kana is sourced from industrial hemp. The products sold by Kana come in many forms, including: oils, topicals, edibles, & vaporizers. None of our products have more than 0.3% THC (the molecule in cannabis that gives you the "high" feeling) as mandated by state and federal laws.
What is the difference between CBD isolate and Full-Spectrum?
CBD isolate is when the manufacturer extracts the raw CBD molecule from the rest of the plant material. Full spectrum is when the full hemp plant is extracted and you get all the cannabinoids (CBD, CBN, THCa, CBG, etc.). For therapeutic purposes, most people will select a full spectrum option due to the positive results of the entourage effect. CBD isolate is often selected when someone wants to avoid having THC in their system, or has had negative results from consuming THC in the past.
Is CBD legal to purchase?
The federal government began regulation of industrial hemp in section 7606 of the Agricultural Act of 2014 (also known as the 2014 Farm Bill). This bill allows for the sale of hemp based products in all 50 states assuming a THC limit of 0.3% or less. However, some states have still not created regulation regarding this subject, while others have made public statements about CBD still being a prosecutable, schedule 1 drug. The laws around CBD are ever-changing. As of the most current statements from the federal government on CBD, it is viewed in a more friendly way when it is in topical form, and a more negative way in an ingestible form. We will continue to update this as laws come through.
How will CBD affect my body?
The main effect of CBD on the body is its cause of Homeostasis. That’s a big word, but it essentially means that CBD is always trying to bring your physical state into balance. Imagine your physiology is like a complicated set of scales where one set of scales is hanging off another set of scales; and so if one scale is off-balance then the whole system of scales can be maligned. CBD’s main function is to bring all those different sets of scales into balance; i.e. between inflammatory and anti-inflammatory; or between oxidizing and anti-oxidizing. The mechanism by which your physical state is regulated is called your endocannabinoid system.
Is CBD for me?
While it is especially important for those with ailments to get their hands on CBD, we believe that CBD is beneficial to all parties. The World Health Organization are responsible for the classifying of disease and morbidity for the entire world. On their 2017 review of CBD, they listed out 17 different illnesses and diseases that CBD can be used to possibly combat. Using these 17 illnesses as a basis, we believe that CBD can be used to help most issues in the body.
